Fun Ways to Wear Spring Scarves - 2013.08.03

There are actually a lot of ways in which you can wear spring scarves. You need not stick to the usual neckpiece or bandana anymore as with these tricks, your scarf can become your favorite accessory in no time at all.

Among the fun ways to wear spring scarves are:

1. As a headband.

This method works best if you are using a scarf with bold colors. To do this, you may want to fold the scarf lengthwise diagonally, then roll it until the end. Once done you may tie the scarf around your head and secure it with hair pins at the back of your ears.

Using your scarf as a headband is not only stylish; it also gives your hair a quick fix.

2. As a bustier.

You can also use your scarf as a bustier, especially if the one you have has brightly colored print. You can do this by folding your scarf lengthwise once again then wrapping it around your body with the thicker part in the front, just enough to cover your chest.

This works best if you are wearing a tube top underneath, or if you are going to the beach as this is a good way to cover your bikini top.

3. As a necktie.

This is a common but still effective way of using spring scarves, particularly those that are made of light fabrics and shades. All you have to do is wrap the scarf around your neck and tie it the same way as you do with a necktie, and you’re all set.

The necktie style works very well with semi-formal and semi-corporate outfits, such as solid-colored dresses and even suits, as the scarf provides a distinct accent to the person wearing it.

4. Scarf bow tie.

If you are fond of tying ribbons and bows, then this technique would be easy for you. You can style up your scarf and tie it up in a bow, and position it right on your collarbone. This kind of scarf trick is best on dresses and collared blouses, especially when you want to add some posh style to your outfit.

If you’re going to do a scarf bow tie, you may want to use deep colored scarves as they offer more substance and power to spring getup.

5. Loose bow tie.

If you’re not up for the prissy bow tie, then you can go for the loose side bow instead. You can do this by tying your scarf into a loose loop and then make a bow on the open ends. This style is also ideal for collared blouses, as the scarf would serve as a necklace, while the bow as a side accent.
